DGH Moves Data To NIC Cloud
Directorate General of Hydrogen (DGH) under the Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MPNG) on 17 July 2025 signed an MoU with the National Informatics Centre (NIC) under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeiTY) to move its National Data Repository (NDR) cloud services at the on-going Urja Varta 2025 in Delhi.
The NDR, a strategic databank housing valuable geoscientific and petroleum exploration information, is a crucial part of India’s subsurface intelligence. By shifting all this data to cloud, the NDR will become more accessible to stakeholders, investors and researchers.
After this shift, the NDR will be more accessible to stakeholders, investors and researchers. NIC’s advanced digital infrastructure will also make the NDR more secure and scalable to support high-volume seismic and well data. This in turn will promote a more collaborative and real-time exploration analysis.
A statement by DGH said this step strengthens India’s commitment to digital energy governance, transparency, and unlocking investment potential in unexplored basins.
